Chibcha is an almost extinct language from Colombia spoken by the indigenous Muisca. It’s also the producer alias name of Oscar Jimenez. Using mixing and live looping techniques with an interesting combination of traditional instruments, Synths, drum machines and live percussion.
Vibrating charangos, electronic sounds, afro-latin beats and powerful vocal harmonies align with the Australian land, creating a portal which connects the southern hemisphere and gives birth to an unknown genre called “Cumbia Oceanica”. Melbourne based project lead by Colombian duo Oscar Jimenez and Katherine Gailer with a group of musicians from Chile, Argentina and Venezuela.
Singer Songwriter and music producer born and raised in Colombia and based in Australia since 2000. Nominated for an Aria back in 2008 with his band Watussi, and twice Winner of the International Songwriting Competition in the Latin Category (ISC 2012 and 2016) for his compositions “Isabela” and “Vuelve a Nacer”, Oscar has develop a long lasting career.
Through his career as a whole (as solo or with Watussi, Amaru Tribe) Oscar has produced and released more than 5 Albums, 5 EPs, and numerous singles, always with an distintice modern and original sound and without losing his Latin American heritage

Sydney-based Afro-Colombian rock 'n' roots band Nominated for the 2008 ARIA Award for Best World Music Album. for their album " Tequila Sangre y Fuego". Watussi toured nationally and overseas and collaborated with artists such as Santana (USA), Earth Wind & Fire (USA), Pedrito Martinez Band (USA/Cuba), Seun Kuti & the Egypt 80 Band (Nigeria), Jon Cleary (USA), Novalima (Peru).
